Relationship Between TPR-SOLE-85A VS TPU

TPR-SOLE-85A is a thermoplastic rubber compound for shoe soles, while TPU is thermoplastic polyurethane. Both are elastic and processable thermoplastics widely used in footwear, but they belong to different material systems.

TPR-SOLE-85A is primarily composed of blends of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and polypropylene (PP). This composition gives it a soft, rubber - like feel, along with excellent flexibility and resilience. As a result, it is particularly suitable for casual shoes and sports shoes that require a comfortable and cushioned wearing experience.

In contrast, TPU is a polymer formed by the reaction of diisocyanates and diols. It offers higher hardness, better wear resistance, and superior oil and chemical resistance. It is often used in high-performance footwear components, such as out soles, that demand durability and support.
